Anthony Anderson Returns To Television- In A Brand New Comedy For NBC!

Posted Mar 6, 2012

Last week when we bumped into Anthony Anderson at the NBA Star Weekend in Orlando, at the Shaq Comedy All Star Jam, he told us that he had something in the works that would drop real soon. I guess we moved too slow to get that exclusive because today Deadline dropped the exclusive that he was coming back to television- except this time in a comedy! Check out the story below!

EXCLUSIVE: Anthony Anderson has been tapped as one of the leads in NBC’s Jimmy Fallon comedy project aka DILFs. The multicamera comedy, written by Charlie Grandy, centers on three 30-something guys enjoy the adventures of parenting despite the fact they haven’t grown up themselves. Anderson, repped by UTA and Principato-Young, will play one of the trio, a sad-sack comic book collector-turned-stay-at-home dad of 4 kids, including two 6-month-old twin girls. He and his wife are broke and are totally overwhelmed by all the kids, but are still very much in love with each other. This is a return to comedy for actor-comedian Anderson after a streak of drama series roles, starting with his big arc on The Shield. He went on to co-star on the final season of the mothership Law & Order series and recently recurred on HBO’s Treme.
