Posted Jan 6, 2011

Comedian Tony Rock, of All Of Us and as the host for Tony Rock Project, has just released a very moving public service announcement about diabetes as his father passed away from the complications from this disease when Rock was younger.

Rock launched The MyROCK Foundation which is charity organization to build awareness and prevention of diabetes among African Americans, and he understands the significant impact of this disease. Because of this and his loss he was able to launch an event titled Live To Laugh.

Live to LAUGH is a charity project and event which was inspired after hearing on a number of occasions of how his comedic talent has given fans a “well needed laugh” during a trying time, a desire was triggered in which to bring laughter and happiness to many families facing hardships.

On December 16, 2010 Rock hosted a Casino Night fundraiser that brought out many supporters in Hollywood, California. The event was utilized to raise funds and solicit comedic product to include in charity gift baskets celebrating the birth of his father (January 6th).

In giving back to the community in his father’s honor, Tony will be selecting 100 low income individuals struggling with terminal illnesses caused by diabetes and providing them with gift baskets “filled with laughter”.

The objective of Live to LAUGH is to inspire, encourage, and get families to laugh in the midst of their situation.  Comedians such as Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Kevin Hart, Earthquake and others have already made a commitment in donating to the cause.
