Paramount Pictures Sets A Release Date For 'Beverly Hills Cop 4'!

Posted May 2, 2014

According to all of our sources we spoke to today, it seems that Paramount Pictures is really serious about the new Beverly Hill Cop film, as they have set a tentative date for the film to be released March 25, 2016.

The film, which will be the fourth installment of the mega-grossing 1980’s franchise film series that starred Eddie Murphy, has him again set to reprise his role as the wise-cracking detective.

According to sources, the new film has the pre-summer weekend all to itself to itself- for now, with Brett Ratner on board to direct.

Even though the script is not yet finalized, we hear that the premise will have Murphy’s Axel Foley character returning to his Detroit roots, except this time he may be dealing with a son (which is exactly along the lines of what the TV show was going to be about but CBS never picked up the pilot).

We hear that writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec, the writers of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, are writing that script.

Stay tuned as this story is still developing.
