Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens and comedian, writer, and producer Chris Spencer are teaming for “Get TO The Point,” a new twice-weekly sports and pop culture video podcast launching September 1st. The program is the first podcast from The Intersection, a new sports and entertainment podcast network, and will be distributed as part of AMP Media’s podcast lineup.
Owens and Spencer will offer their takes on sports, entertainment, pop culture, and trending headlines, joined by a rotating lineup of athletes and celebrities. Episodes will feature headline deep dives, debates, and other interactive segments.
TV host Joy Taylor, four-time NBA champion John Salley, and comedian Jo Koy are among the first scheduled guests.
“Anybody who knows me knows I don’t do quiet, and I definitely don’t hold back,” said Owens. “Chris and I are coming to Get TO The Point twice a week with the same intensity that I brought to the game every Sunday.”
Spencer said comedy and sports have long provided ways to process life, trade jokes, and deal with stress, adding that listeners can expect the hosts to share their own behind-the-scenes stories along with those of their guests.
Owens played 15 seasons in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals. The six-time Pro Bowler and five-time First-Team All-Pro was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018. He has since remained active in entertainment and other ventures, including television appearances and “The T.O. Show.”
Spencer’s three-decade entertainment career includes work as an actor, comedian, writer, producer, director. and host. He co-created and executive-produced “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” wrote and executive-produced “Grown-ish” and most recently hosted and executive-produced Vice TV’s “Black Comedy in America.“
“Get TO The Point” is now available on podcast platforms, with new episodes released each Tuesday and Thursday.
