TV & Film Producers Bring Hollywood To Howard University With New Writers Workshop!

Posted Sep 26, 2012

We just discovered some interesting news! We heard that Bentley Evans and his sister and producing partner Stacey Evans Morgan (both of which were behind such television hits as Martin, The Parkers, Love That Girl, Family Time) are starting a writers workshop at Howard University as they bring Hollywood to Howard! This is very interesting, especially since we can’t think of anyone else who really takes the time to give back.

Anyway, check out the press release below with all of the details!

Stacey Evans Morgan & Bentley Kyle Evans, television Producers/Writers behind hit series such as: MARTIN, THE PARKERS, JAMIE FOXX SHOW, LOVE THAT GIRL, FAMILY TIME and more for their 2-day TV writing workshop September 28-30, 2012 at Howard University’s Blackburn Center, in Washington D.C.

They will join OBS (Organization of Black Screenwriters) on Tour 2012 in partnership with Howard University’s College of Arts & Sciences and Student Affairs to present an exciting series of Screenwriting Master Classes.  IN THE WRITERS ROOM is one of three intense classes being offered and will teach the ABC’s of Sitcom Writing, developing and packaging projects for television and the web and so much more!  With their extensive industry experience, Stacey Evans Morgan and Bentley Kyle Evans are bringing “Hollywood” to the Washington DC area for aspiring TV writers who have questions about how to get started and desire information on the “business of the business.”  This will be a golden opportunity to receive instruction and network face-to-face with two industry veterans who can answer those questions.  Aspiring actors are also encouraged to attend to learn how to create vehicles for their own talent to shine!

In addition to the IN THE WRITERS ROOM Workshop, OBS will also present

Anatomy of A Pilot w/Kellie R. Griffin (Creator of “Reed Between the Lines” and Howard University Alum) and Create Your Blockbuster Movie w/OBS Screenwriting Experts Rene N. Rawls (Tribeca Alum, Nelson Mandela Grant Recipient, & Cosby Fellow) & Tracy Grant (Lincoln Heights).

The cost is ONLY $150 for entire weekend

(Howard University Students – Scholarships Available)

This event is open to the public.
