September 4, 2011 at 3:34 PMCongrats to Humor Mill for being the first to break the news!
This just in from Quantum Public Relations:
Over the weekend, the Humor Mill an on-line digital magazine, website and TV show that covers Urban Comedians and Urban Hollywood, broke the story of Eddie Murphy potentially hosting the 84th Annual Academy Awards. Since that time, The Hollywood Reporter and the LA Times have also followed suit. They have recognized the Humor Mill as the first to report the exclusive!
With Brett Ratner wearing the producer hat for the upcoming Oscars, chances are he will bring a bit of laughter to the broadcast. Eddie Murphy certainly fits the bill for that! In the past we’ve seen comedy from Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, Whoopi Goldberg and Steve Martin to name a few.
I think it’s a great possibility this would be a memorable ceremony with Murphy at the helm. We haven’t seen him on the stage in a comedic capacity in over twenty years since “Saturday Night Live” and his concert RAW. I believe next year’s Oscars would be highly anticipated and this could prove major for Ratner and Murphy. I for one would love to see him in his element once again!
Congratulations to Frank Holder of Humor Mill for the mentions in The Hollywood Reporter and LA Times!
