Last week we were able to get an interview with comedian Chastity Washington at the American Black Film Festival’s Comedy Wings Competition via our sister network American Color.

As we previously stated, the competition was hosted by comedian Rickey Smiley, and there were four finalists – comedians Chastity Washington, Dino Vigo, Kareem Green and Mike Merrill – who all descended to the festival to compete for the Comedy Wings title.  The event which was hosted by HBO, was over capacity as the new winner was announced; and that winner was Milwaukee’s own Chastity Washington!

The competition was in partnership with the ABFF to create a pathway for opportunities for rising comedic talent across all mediums: film, television and the web. Washington was the grand prize winner and is set to be awarded $2,500!
