Why Was Men In Black 3 Shutdown AGAIN?!

Posted Oct 14, 2010

In case you hadn’t heard, Men In Black 3 was shut down in the early pre-production stages.

Hollywood rumors have been spread that the main reason for the shutdown was the script disputes between Will Smith and director Barry Sonnenfeld (who directed the first two MiB pictures) and the producers.

Shooting was to be supposed already underway with Smith, Tommy Lee Jones and Alec Baldwin, but the film has been shut down for two weeks during pre-production and the shooting start date pushed back until mid-November.

But according to Sony Pictures the shut down has nothing to do with problems with Smith but film tax incentives. As a rep from the studio was quoted that: “The only reason production will begin in mid-November as opposed to late October is to take advantage of recent changes affecting New York State film incentives. Suggesting that a disagreement triggered the shift is complete fiction.”

Our sources have stated that this story is true and nothing else has surfaced, but we must say that things do seem a little fishy. So, we will dig a little deeper and get back to you shortly.
