As we previously reported, comedy legend Tracy Morgan is stepping back into the sitcom spotlight with Crutch, a fresh and fiery new series set to premiere on Monday, November 3rd, exclusively on Paramount+. The show is a spinoff of CBS’s hit comedy The Neighborhood, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the season.
Morgan stars as Francois “Frank” Crutchfield—better known as “Crutch”—a brash but beloved Harlem shop owner whose life takes a chaotic turn when his highbrow son and free-spirited daughter move back into the family home. The series promises a blend of sharp humor, heartfelt moments, and Morgan’s signature comedic flair.
In a clever crossover move, Morgan will first appear as Crutch in a special episode of The Neighborhood airing the same night, titled “Welcome to Family Value.” In the episode, Calvin (Cedric the Entertainer) calls on his cousin Crutch to help with a home renovation, only to have Crutch show up in L.A. and stir up hilarious trouble.
Joining Morgan in Crutch is a dynamic ensemble:
- Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts)
- Kecia Lewis (Hell’s Kitchen)
- Adrianna Mitchell (Snowfall)
- Adrian Martinez (The Amateur)
- Braxton Paul (Sesame Street)
- Finn Maloney (Suncoast)
The series is created by Owen Smith, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Cedric the Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone executive produce through their company, A Bird and a Bear Entertainment, alongside Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Mike Mariano, and Morgan himself.
All eight episodes of Crutch will be available to stream on Paramount+ at launch, giving fans a full season to binge from day one.
With its roots in The Neighborhood and Tracy Morgan’s unmistakable comedic energy, Crutch is poised to deliver laughs, heart, and a fresh take on family dynamics.
