Paramount+ has officially canceled Crutch, the multi‑camera comedy spinoff of The Neighborhood, after just one season. The Tracy Morgan–led series debuted in November 2025 but struggled to build an audience and ultimately became a casualty of the streamer’s shifting priorities.
The cancellation was widely expected. Cast contract options expired at the end of 2025, making renewal unlikely, and several actors had already moved on to other projects. Tracy Morgan himself shifted to NBC’s The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, which premiered in January 2026 and was renewed for a second season.
Additionally, following Skydance’s acquisition of Paramount+ and CBS Studios, the streamer announced it would no longer prioritize multi‑cam comedies, noting CBS already dominates the genre. This strategic pivot left Crutch as the lone original comedy on the platform — and ultimately sealed its fate.
Crutch followed Francois “Frank” Crutchfield, a brash but beloved Harlem shop owner whose life is upended when his adult children return home. The show existed within the world of The Neighborhood, even featuring a crossover episode on the same day it premiered. Despite earning a rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score, the series failed to gain traction with viewers.
With Crutch gone, Paramount+ now has only one live‑action comedy remaining — Colin from Accounts — as the platform continues shifting its focus toward drama series such as Landman, Dutton Ranch, and MobLand.
