Sheryl Underwood Launches Her Own Afternoon Drive Radio Show & Gears Up For Syndication!

Posted Jul 25, 2013

After we posted our story yesterday about comedian DL Hughley launching a new syndicated afternoon drive radio show that will launch in the next couple of months, our sources bombarded us with ANOTHER comedian who is about to join the afternoon drive with a new radio program; The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood!

Our sources stated to us that Underwood is dropping a new show titled Sheryl Underwood In The Afternoon that will launch on The Juice FM 107.3 (WJUC) in Toledo, Ohio. We hear that if the show tests well, the show will be expanded into several key markets leading up to national syndication. We hear that Underwood’s afternoon show will also feature comedian Kyle Erby, radio personalities Tisha Lee and Charlie Mack and will premiere on Aug. 2nd. The show will air from 3 – 7pm weekdays.

This seems to be the same testing format that was done with The Steve Harvey Morning Show when he launched his program many years ago, and what happens when several nervous radio execs are not sure how the talent will be in the markets. You would think that they would know better as she has successfully hosted her own show on Jamie Foxx’s The Foxxhole channel on SiriusXM satellite radio AND she was a contributor on the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show after making her jump from  the syndicated The Tom Joyner Morning Show.

Stay tuned as this story is developing!
