First up for the network is several shows, one which stars actress Robin Givens. As you will notice from the press release below there are several other shows, but this is the first group of shows that the new network-named CoLours TV -is placing out to the mass audience first.

Check out the press release;

Currently available in more than 17 million U.S. homes, CoLours TV, the nation’s first multicultural network, today announced that in January of 2011, the network will launch a three-hour block of family-friendly programming which will air from 8:00 to 11:00 pm each Sunday night. And in an unprecedented agreement, CoLours has tapped Bright Ideas Entertainment to produce all four of the half-hour series that will make up the weekly block.

“We are excited to offer our TV audience this new and compelling content,” said Tracy Jenkins Winchester, President/CEO of CoLours TV. “Each program reflects our vision to showcase people of color in real-life situations. We anticipate even more highly creative projects with Bright Ideas Entertainment in 2011 and the future.”

“All of us at Bright Ideas are very excited to partner with CoLours for what we know will be a great programming lineup,” added Bright Ideas Entertainment CEO William Hollins. “In addition to great entertainment, our shows are all wholesome family entertainment which celebrate diversity and strong moral values. We are especially proud to become part of the CoLours family, as our entertainment visions are in perfect alignment.”

The four original series include:

THE CHIN CHENS is a half-hour sitcom showcasing the life of a successful, mixed Asian-American family living and enjoying the American Dream. With three kids, who sometimes downplay their own cultural identity in exchange for their American way of life, the family’s Asian cultural frailties are revealed and heightened when their Vietnamese grandmother moves in with them.

MY PARENTS, MY SISTER AND ME is a half-hour comedy series starring Robin Givens, with Emmy Award winner Debbie Allen as Executive Producer and Director. This series shines the comedic spotlight on two girls who become stepsisters when their parents (she’s African-American, he’s Jewish) marry and everybody moves in together, much to the cultural shock of the two pre-teen girls who have so much to learn about each other.

AMERICAN SKATE-OFF is best described as “Reality TV on Wheels,” and it’s the most powerful and entertaining form of rollerskating ever witnessed. The one-hour weekly series is fueled by the energy of average Americans who have carefully fused the world of artistic dancing and rollerskating into one terrific genre of entertainment known as “Artistic Rollerskating.”

HAPPY HOUR WITH CLAUDIA JORDAN is a one-hour weekly variety-talk show hosted by the beautiful and amazingly funny Claudia Jordan who, along with her celebrity guests, will create a buzz audiences will never forget.
