New Scripted Comedy Series Based On Judge Mathis' Life Lands At FOX & Is Backed By Ellen DeGeneres!

Posted Sep 5, 2013

According to several reports we hear that a scripted TV comedy series based on the life of Judge Greg Mathis has been put into development at Warner Brothers TV and Ellen DeGeneres’ company, A Very Good Production.

The reports state that FOX has picked up a script commitment for the untitled project that will follow the life of a thug-turned-judge who is in full control of his courtroom, but has zero control over the 4 children he’s raising at home with his wife.

The show is to be written by brothers Todd Jones and Earl Richey Jones ( of Johnson Family Vacation and In Living Color fame)

For Mathis, this hits home as he was once a gang member in his youth who happened to turn his life around after ending up in jail and after he discovered that his single mother was diagnosed with cancer.

The show should be interesting, and we hear that the writers and producers are looking for fresh young talented comedians to play the parts of Mathis’ children in the project.

More details will follow soon!
