Mike Epps has definitely become a familiar face on Netflix, with Delusional, marking his fifth special for the streamer.
His previous specials include:
- Don’t Take It Personal (2015)
- Only One Mike (2019)
- Indiana Mike (2022)
- Ready to Sell Out (2024)
Each of these projects showcased Epps’ signature blend of sharp observational humor, unfiltered storytelling, and his ability to connect with audiences through relatable experiences.
In Delusional, Epps leans into the idea that “a little delusion and a lot of hustle” helped fuel his rise from Indianapolis to Hollywood. The special promises hilarious and unfiltered stories about fame, relationships, and the grind of making it in entertainment.
The special is directed by Royale Watkins, who also produced alongside Ron Allchin. Epps himself served as executive producer, joined by Mark A. Ritchie, Thomas Cobb, Niles Kirchner, Kyra Epps, and Watkins. The production company behind the special is Southpaw Productions.
Epps first broke through in 1995 with an appearance on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, later becoming a host of the iconic series. Since then, he has built a career that spans stand-up, film, and television. Beyond his specials, he stars in and produces Netflix’s sitcom The Upshaws, which returns for its final season in January 2026.
His stand-up style is known for mixing raw honesty with playful exaggeration, often drawing from his own life experiences. Delusional continues this tradition, offering fans both laughs and insight into the mindset that propelled him to success.
With Delusional, Epps cements his place as one of the few comedians to consistently deliver for Netflix over a decade. The special not only highlights his longevity but also his ability to evolve with audiences while staying true to his comedic voice.
