Emmy-winning actress Loretta Devine (Grey’s Anatomy) has been cast opposite Jerrod Carmichael in Go Jerrod Go, NBC’s multi-camera pilot written by Carmichael and Nick Stoller that’s described as an irreverent comedy inspired by Carmichael’s stand-up and his relationships with his girlfriend and family.
The project follows a young couple, Jerrod (Carmichael) and Maxine (Amber West), who decide to move in together, but when it comes time to tell Jerrod’s parents, he finds every reason in the world to hold off on breaking the news to them. Devine, repped by Innovative Artists and Essential Talent Management, will play Jerrod’s mother. Her other TV credits include Boston Public, Doc McStuffins and Everybody Hates Chris.
