EXCLUSIVE- Is The Dave Chappelle & Chris Rock Comedy Show Actually Going To Happen?

Almost two weeks ago, we reported that comedians Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle were both on stage in New York at the club The Comedy Cellar working out, and because they both were there discussions came up about doing a comedy show together.

Well, our sources have now told us that the comedy show that was looking like a reality might not happen as soon as we believed. The reasons are quite simply time will not permit for both of the comedic stars to make it a possibility soon. BUT we should state that both comedians did discuss the comedy tour and both loved the idea of being able to make it happen, but they both are not able to make it happen now. What we can say for certain is that if they are able to make if work in their schedules in 2012 then it will happen, but as of now, its not moving forward as we would hope.

Oh well. Let’s see what happens as this story continues to develop.

EXCLUSIVE-Is Foxxhole Radio Done For Good?

We just discovered from our sources that Foxxhole Radio founded by Jamie Foxx in partnership with Sirius Radio may close it’s doors for good, despite printed reports stating otherwise.

Our sources have disclosed to us that Foxxhole has told its staff that they were going on hiatus until January and that they would resume its programming then. The fact of the matter is not only is the station currently playing reruns of its programming, we discovered that the entire staff and it’s programming probably will not return at all.

As of this writing, we have discovered that since Jamie Foxx has severed his ties with his former manager Marcus King (who coincidentally is in charge of programming at Foxxhole Radio along with Johnny Mack), Foxx has no plans of bringing it back. In fact, since the fall out, Foxx has yet to appear on the Foxxhole as he normally would. We even discovered that Foxx is currently thinking about bringing in his new management team which is headed by Rick Yorn to take a look at the station and probably take over The Foxxhole. But that decision has not been made, and so far, the plan is to let the station go.

Finally, Foxxhole Radio normally is off for about three weeks and never has the station gone on hiatus for this long. Our sources say that the doors closing for good should be official soon if the new management doesn’t move in. But since the station is going on hiatus this early in the season for th holiday break, our sources claim that the station coming back is hardly likely.

This story is containing to develop, and we will keep you in the loop.

It's Official Now; Eddie Murphy Out, & Billy Crystal In As New Oscar Host!

It’s really official; Eddie Murphy is out and Billy Crystal is in as the new host of the Oscars. How short the Eddie Murphy Oscar host reign was…There were some thoughts that Murphy was going to possibly come back (even though we knew that wasn’t going to happen) when producer Brian Grazer was hired to replace Brett Ratner as the show’s new producer. For those of you who don’t know, Grazer was an Executive Producer of Tower Heist and has an excellent relationship with Murphy. Anyway, In the whirlwind news yesterday of the who would be host of the Oscars once Grazer was hired, speculation was rampant of who the new host would be and some actually thought Murphy was coming back. As we learned last night, that was not to be the case.

Here is the official press release from the Academy;

Producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer have announced that Billy Crystal will serve as host for the 84th Academy Awards.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Billy back to the Oscar® stage,” said Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak. “He’s a comic legend and Oscar icon, and it feels good to have him back where he belongs.”

Commented Grazer: “Like so many others, I’ve been eager to see Billy host again. It’s very gratifying that he agreed to do it with Don and me at the helm.”

Said Mischer: “With Billy, we’re moving forward with one of the greatest hosts in Oscar history. His return to the Oscars is, in a sense, a celebration.”

This will mark Crystal’s ninth time as host. Only Bob Hope has hosted more Academy Awards presentations, with 19 ceremonies between 1940 and 1978. Crystal last hosted the Academy Awards in 2004.

“Some of the best moments of my career have happened on the Oscar stage. I am thrilled to be back there. Actually, I am doing this so that the young woman in my pharmacy will stop asking me my name when I pick up my prescriptions,” said Crystal.

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2011 will be presented on Sunday, February 26, 2012, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200
countries worldwide.

EXCLUSIVE-Comedian Tony Rock To Host New Jamie Foxx Sketch Comedy Show!

Last night at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles, we were able to interview comedian Tony Rock who dropped a couple of exclusive news bits on us. Rock told us that he is hosting the new Jamie Foxx Sketch comedy show that is currently in pre-production for Showtime.

If you haven’t heard, Jamie Foxx exited the Affion Crockett show which premiered on FOX titled In The Flow (but he did stay on as Executive Producer) to launch his own sketch comedy show. Our sources told us that his exit from that show was due to creative differences, and that he had an opportunity to have a show on cable which according to our sources, was too good for Foxx to pass up. Foxx immediately went in to production on the show because he would be filming his new film Dejango Unchained around Thanksgiving.

Anyway, because of this, the ramp up happened quickly and Rock told us that Foxx saw him perform and loved him and bought him on board for the new show.

We will have more on this interview in it’s entirety next week! Stay tuned!

Eddie Murphy Officially Steps Down As Oscar Host!

The Oscars will now have a new host as comedian Eddie Murphy has officially stepped down as the host, following the footsteps of Producer Brett Ratner. Ratner officially stepped down as Oscar producer after several dumb public statements that he originally made while on the Howard Stern radio show promoting Tower Heist, statement that we care not to print. (We are sure that you read them elsewhere) Ratner, when hired, convinced the Academy that he wanted to stir things up and bring in a comedian to host the Oscars, and he did; he landed comedic actor Eddie Murphy. He wanted to bring in a younger audience and stir things up. Now with his resignation and the show seeking a new producer to replace Ratner, speculation is that the show may go back to it’s old ways. But who knows?

Anyway, as we stated yesterday, this really should not come to anyone as a big surprise as Ratner who was the one who bought Murphy in, was giving him everything he needed to make a smooth transition to coming back on stage after a 25 year absence. Yes, its not the same thing as a comedy performance, but there are still jokes told and a stage presence that comes with the gig, hence the reason of the Oscars hiring several comics to host.

We hear from our sources that with the new producers coming in Murphy was not comfortable with the new direction or the conversations of who the Producers were planning on bringing in to replace Ratner. Most importantly is the writers and we hear there was no comfortable place there also.

We have more information coming. This story continues to develop!
