Kevin Hart Makes MORE Comedy History With 'Laugh At My Pain'!

To know one’s surprise at all, comedian Kevin Hart has managed to continue to capitalize on the social media with his latest DVD, Laugh At My Pain.

We just discovered that Laugh At My Pain has now become the number one stand up performance album sold on Itunes of all time, the number three comedy film and the number nine movie overall.  Now that Hart is about to reach three million Twitter followers, is this really surprising?

Anyway, Laugh At My Pain was produced by Codeblack Entertainment late last winter in less than 200 theaters and recorded over seven million dollars during it’s theatrical run. As we said, Hart continues to break new ground.

Showtime Plans To Drop A Richard Pryor Documentary!

One of our sources who was present yesterday at the Winter 2012 Television Critics Association Press Tour, heard some interesting news from Showtime’s President Of Entertainment David Nevins. He stated that they were going to invest heavily in documentaries and that one of them was going to be a doc about the late great comedian Richard Pryor. He also stated that its in the works and that the contract and minor details are being worked out with the family.

After doing some of our own research, we discovered that the network is dealing with Jenifer Pryor, who, at the moment, has the rights to Pryor’s estate as she was married to the late comedian twice over the years and had won a legal battle with his children over the estate.

Where does all of this fit in with the film that is supposed to star Marlon Wayans? As of this writing, no one knows, but we do know that the Richard Pryor biopic has stalled momentaririly and is supposed to pick up some steam in April. We will see.

New Barack Obama Animated Comedy Series Featuring Kel Mitchell Launches!

Several days ago we discovered a new animated project was launched on the website Funnyordie.com that featured comedic actor Kel Mitchell with a very funny premise. We heard that the new project was about President Barack Obama with an alter ego!

We heard that Producer Wayne Stamps (of Moesha, The Proud Family, Phil of the Future, Just Jordan, Love That Girl fame) is ready to rock the world of politics – and comedy – with a highly imaginative and piercingly poignant animated series, B-Rock The First Term.  Created to focus on the current state of our great country and capture the once-in-a-lifetime historic events unfolding under the leadership of our nation’s first black President, Wayne’s new series of webisodes is a no-holds-barred rendering of history in the making.

Produced by BRP Productions, Wayne is working with Producer Tyree Dillihay (of Pink Panther & Pals, Read A Book fame), Director Lionel Ordaz (Pink Panther & Pals) and Composer Kurt Farquhar (Lincoln Heights, King of Queens, The Parkers, The Proud Family, Moesha) on a total of 12  3-minute episodes.

When Obama made history in 2008 by being elected the first black president in the history of America, he single-handedly took on the toughest job and the biggest responsibility in the world.  But what most people, even the woman closest to President Obama, his wife Michelle, don’t know is that Barack has a secret… weapon.  Beneath the relaxed, charismatic, mocha skin created from a collision of Kansas and Kenya, is an alter ego that, unless regulated by the mentholated, nicotine fix of a COOL cigarette, which secretly helps Barack keep his… well… Cool… explodes into the thugged out, street hardened, ass kickin’, sh#% talkin’, take no prisoners, gangsta ass American Patriot from the streets… of Hawaii… better known as B-Rock (voiced by Kel Mitchell)So while the country struggles to come to a second term with Barack Obama as the most powerful man on the planet, there is no doubt that few are ready for the iron fist bump of B-Rock.

B-Rock is the animated series that blows the roof off the White House and exposes the twisted behind-the-scenes shenanigans of the 44th President of the United States of America as he and his gangsta alter ego, B-Rock, encounter an endless array of nutty characters including: Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Michael Vick, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Osama bin Laden, Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, Tea Partiers, Clarence Thomas, Dick Cheney, Marian Robinson, Joe Biden, Illegal Immigrants, Michael Steele, William Taft, Jack Johnson, John McCain, and the most ominous figure of them all… Ronald Reagan.
