Paul Mooney Officially Retires From Touring Stand Up Comedy!
According to our sources, we hear that comedian, writer, and producer Paul Mooney has officially retired from doing stand up comedy. While this shouldn’t be too much of a shock as Mooney is now 75 years old, it seems to shock most of those who thought he would never stop doing comedy until his last breath.
It should also be noted that his announcement is not health related (he was diagnosed with prostate cancer) as Mooney did have a couple of health scares a couple of years ago, but he recovered quickly- and quietly.
If you are not familiar with Mooney, he became a ringmaster with the Gatti-Charles Circus early on in his career. During his stint as ringmaster, he always found himself writing comedy and telling jokes, which would later help Mooney land his first professional work as a writer for Richard Pryor.
Mooney wrote some of Pryor’s routines for his appearance on Saturday Night Live, co-wrote his material for the Live on the Sunset Strip, Bicentennial Nigger, and Is It Something I Said albums, and Pryor’s film Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling. As the head writer for The Richard Pryor Show, he gave many young comics, such as Robin Williams, Sandra Bernhard, Marsha Warfield, John Witherspoon, and Tim Reid, their first break into show business.
Mooney also wrote for Redd Foxx’s Sanford and Son, Good Times, acted in several cult classics including Which Way Is Up?, Bustin’ Loose, Hollywood Shuffle, and portrayed singer/songwriter Sam Cooke in The Buddy Holly Story.
He was the head writer for the first year of Fox’s In Living Color, inspiring the character Homey D. Clown, played by Damon Wayans. Mooney later went on to play Wayans’ father in the Spike Lee film Bamboozled as the comedian Junebug.
Mooney initially appeared in the sketches “Ask a Black Dude” and “Mooney at the Movies” on Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show. He later appeared as Negrodamus, an African American version of Nostradamus. As Negrodamus, Mooney ad-libbed the “answers to life’s most unsolvable mysteries” such as “Why do white people love Wayne Brady?” (Answer: “Because Wayne Brady makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X.”) Mooney was planning to reprise his role as Negrodamus in the third season of the Chappelle’s Show, before Dave Chappelle left the show due to stress, and it ended suddenly.
Mooney also hosted the BET tribute to Black History Month titled 25 Most @#%! Moments in Black History. In this show, he narrated some of the most shameful incidents involving African Americans since 1980. The top 25 moments included incidents involving Marion Barry, Terrell Owens, Wilson Goode, Michael Jackson, Flavor Flav, Whitney Houston, and Tupac Shakur.
Mooney released his first book, the memoir Black is the New White several years ago and slowed down performing stand-up after his cancer diagnosis.
Our source tells us that Mooney will ONLY do special dates, but he will not be on tour anymore.

Bill Cosby Fears He May Be Poisoned!
Bill Cosby is alarmingly afraid of being taken advantage of by the public, in response to the alleged sexual assault controversy that’s plagued him over the past few years. According to a report, the legendary comedian and his team are concerned that someone may attempt to poison his food, which is why he refrains from staying in hotels. A source says,
He and his wife are afraid that if he stayed at a hotel, someone will find a way to poison him, put something in his food. He’s blind, so that makes him even more vulnerable to [being] poisoned or to having someone sneak into his room.
As you know, the 79-year-old entertainer has been accused of sexual assault by some 60 women. In many instances, they claim that he slipped them mickeys. Reportedly, Cosby won’t even drink from water fountains at the courthouse, opting instead of bringing his own water bottles, along with meals. He’s also concerned that someone will try to bug his room.
He’s thinking and his team is thinking, if he’s put in a hotel room, someone will find out which room he’s staying in and they’ll put a bug or a device in the room.
Bill Cosby
According to a source, the comedian also feels that some of the comedians whom he helped to build their own careers only on (ie Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Chris Rock and Sinbad) have not supported him.
Guys like Murphy, Lawrence and Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, guys that he paved the way for- they won’t offer any support.
The source adds,
He can’t even pay people to come and support him. He’s been told that agents have informed their clients that their careers would be over if they got involved. We’re not asking anyone to testify. We are asking those whom he’s helped, maybe they can call or come sit in the courtroom and see for themselves what’s happening before turning your back.
Reportedly, he also feels as if some civil-rights leaders have abandoned him.
Jesse [Jackson] claims to have forgotten Bill’s number and Al Sharpton won’t even return his phone calls. Both of them were vocal in their support of Michael Jackson and the charges against Mike involved kids. So, is this really that toxic when you compare the two? Any other time they’d at least rally to say something about innocent until otherwise proven.

Kevin Hart Talks To ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ About Growing Up In Philadelphia!
Kevin Hart used his sense of humor to his advantage while growing up in North Philadelphia.
The actor and comedian said so much during an interview with “CBS Sunday Morning” over the weekend, where he touched on topics ranging from his childhood to his current successes.
“Nobody wants to fight the funny guy,” he said while discussing his formative years.
Though, Hart told CBS’ Tracy Smith that his comedy didn’t come in handy when talking to girls.
“Girls wanna date the funny guy?” he said. “I didn’t know how to shut the funny off with women. That was my problem when I was younger.”
During his childhood, Hart’s father faced addiction while he grew up in a North Philly apartment with his mother and brother where he slept in the hallway.
“It didn’t feel small until I went over to one of my friend’s and they were doing well,” he said. “And I saw grass. ‘You got grass outside? I don’t know how you got that, that’s crazy man! You all going to play in this grass? It ain’t the school’s? Man, that’s cool!””
Now, he may be at the height of his career. Hart is the world’s highest-paid comedian, according to Forbes.
He’s slated to appear in several movies next year, including Universal Studio’s remake of “The Great Outdoors” and a comedy titled “Night School.”
Hart’s getting his own YouTube fitness show too and recently got his own day named after him in Philadelphia, which is coming up in July.
He and wife Eniko Parrish are also expecting their first child together, a baby boy.
Hart sat down with Smith to discuss his new book, “I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons,” which he’s promoting on June 7 at the Free Library of Philadelphia’s Central Branch.

50 Cent Believes His New Black Mafia Family TV Show Could Be Bigger Than ‘Power’
Earlier in May, it was revealed that Power, a show starring and produced by 50 Cent, is second only to Game Of Thrones when it comes to premium cable ratings.
Now, Fiddy thinks he’s got something to beat it. In a video on Instagram, he announced that there’s a “BMF series COMING SOON, you think you know, you have no idea. BIG MEECH.” BMF refers to the Black Mafia Family gang that was founded in Detroit in the 1980s and that went on to control a major cocaine trafficking operation in the United States by the 2000s.
50 elaborated in the comments section of his own post, which is where he made the claim that he’s outdone himself with his new show. He wrote:
“The writers deals are done, there [sic] already working and communicating with BMF inside and out. To have a strong understanding of what transpired. This you don’t want to miss. This I believe can top Power. But when you see this season of Power you will not believe how good it is. SMH.”
The series doesn’t have a release date yet, but Power has proven that 50 Cent has good judgment when it comes to TV entertainment.
