OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today the new unscripted series “Mind Your Business with Mahisha,” featuring Curls CEO and Creator, Mahisha Dellinger, helping female entrepreneurs take their business to the next level, is set to premiere on Saturday, August 11 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The hour-long series will follow OWN’s award-winning reality series “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” (9 p.m. ET/PT) for an all-female led Saturday night lineup. OWN continues to top Saturday nights as the #1 network on all of TV for African American women.
Mahisha Dellinger survived the streets of South Sacramento, turning a creative idea into the multi-million-dollar hair company, Curls, a family of organic hair care products targeted for women embracing their natural textures. In each standalone episode, Mahisha meets with entrepreneurs and guides them with inspiration and a little bit of tough love. She tests their passion and determination while demanding that they give it their all – just like she did – in order to reach their goals.
This series will feature successful businesswomen including: Gloria Williams, Founder and CEO of Footnanny pedicure products and known as Oprah’s personal pedicurist; Mehgan James (“Bad Girls Club”), owner of 800 West clothing line; Lia Diaz, owner of The Girl Cave, a three-store chain of beauty bars and beauty supplies in Southern California; and Chef Shalamar Lane, owner of My Father’s BBQ, a family run BBQ restaurant in Carson, California.

RuPaul is adding another title to his ever-expanding resume: daytime talk show host.
The Emmy-winning host of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” is bringing his personality to the daytime space, filming a talk show pilot for Telepictures.
The show, which is targeted for a fall 2019 launch and will be filmed in front of a live audience, will feature the host bringing his unique, positive and aspirational point of view to the format, interviewing celebrities, giving beauty and glam tips, playing games, and dishing on pop culture. He’s not expected to do cooking or exercise segments, which have been typical daytime fare. Frequent collaborator Michelle Visage is also expected to play a major role.
Telepictures, the syndication production arm of Warner Bros., is also behind Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, as well as “The Real,” which was recently renewed for two seasons. The hope is that his unique flair will help the show stand out, given that other celebrity-driven talk shows have faltered, including efforts from Katie Couric, Meredith Vieira, and Harry Connick Jr.
RuPaul, who is best known for hosting “The RuPaul Show” on VH1 and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and its spinoffs for both Logo and VH1, skyrocketed to fame with the dance track “Supermodel (You Better Work).” That success led to a contract with MAC Cosmetics, making him the first drag queen supermodel.
He has several other TV projects in the works, including a comedy series for Netflix titled “AJ and the Queen,” in which he will star, as well as write and executive produce with Michael Patrick King. Hulu is also developing a series based on his life with J.J. Abrams serving as executive producer.

Sony Pictures has set J.B. Smoove to star in Spider-Man: Far from Home, sources said. Sony would not comment and nobody would divulge Smoove’s role but I’m told it is a lead in the ensemble. So far, he’s the first new cast member to be set beyond Jake Gyllenhaal, who is expected to play the villain Mysterio. Jon Watts is directing, and Tom Holland returns as the webslinger, with Michael Keaton, Zendaya and Marisa Tomei expected to reprise.
The film is dated for July 5, 2019. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing.
