Patterson (The Last O.G., The Big Bang Theory) and ABC Studios. In addition, Fred Savage has been tapped to direct the pilot.
Written by Patterson, the untitled Odom project is inspired by real life progressive pastors Touré & Sarah Roberts. The show revolves around Omari (Odom Jr.) & Hope (Jenrette) who together run a modern ministry and share an even more eclectic and chaotic home life with a combined four children.

As a director, Savage has worked on 20th TV’s comedy series Modern Family — for which he received a DGA nomination – and most recently The Cool Kids, The Conners and The Goldbergs.

Baby Powder is making a return. Mike Epps will reprise his role from the original stoner classic in MTV’s movie sequel How High 2. The network also set a premiere date of Saturday, April 20 and released a first-look at the show open above.
Epps will provide continuity for fans of the 2001 pop-culture phenom, in which he co-starred opposite Method Man and Redman. He joins previously announced cast including Lil Yachty, D.C. Young Fly, Alyssa Goss, DeRay Davis and Mary Lynn Rajskub, with special appearances from Blac Youngsta, NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Lil Baby, and Justine Skye.
Written by Family Guy’s Shawn Ries and Artie Johann, Alex Blagg (Workaholics) & Neel Shah (Powerless), the follow-up to the 2001 film chronicles two young “potrepreneurs” on a magical hash-fueled journey to fund their on-demand munchies delivery start-up. Lil Yachty (Roger) plays an entrepreneur and stars opposite of D.C. Young Fly (Calvin) who plays his best friend.
Set in the streets of Atlanta, How High 2 features music from today’s top hip-hop artists including “Forever Young” by Lil Yachty featuring Diplo, “Stir Fry” by Migos and “100 Miles & Running” by Logic featuring Wale & John Lindahl.
How High 2 is produced by MTV and Universal 1440 Entertainment, the production arm of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
The sequel is directed by Bruce Leddy (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, MADtv). Lil Yachty, Kevin “Coach K” Lee, and Pierre “Pee” Thomas from Quality Control serve as Executive Producers, along with Brian Sher. Shauna Garr (How High) returns as an Executive Producer, alongside Producer Mike Elliott (Halloween II, American Pie: Band Camp). Morgana Rosenberg, Josh Vodnoy and Jason Goldberg serve as Executive Producers for MTV.
Epps had previously said that he had no interest in a How High sequel, which Redman and Method Man had been working on- and off- for almost two decades. He is the only original cast member to reprise his role.

Mere seconds pass before several people are fired in this first trailer for Amazon Studios’ Late Night, with Emma Thompson as a monstrous boss and talk-show host doing the head-chopping. The assistant-firing Murphy Brown at her most ruthless was compassion incarnated compared to Thompson’s Katherine Newbury.
Directed by Nisha Ganatra, Late Night also stars John Lithgow, Max Casella, Hugh Dancy, Denis O’Hare, Reid Scott, Ike Barinholtz, John Early, Paul Walter Hauser and Amy Ryan.
Late Night hits theaters June 7 via Amazon Studios.
Oprah Winfrey talks to Michael B. Jordan, award-nominated actor of “Black Panther,” “Creed” and “Fruitvale Station” and is executive producer of upcoming OWN drama series “David Makes Man,” in an episode of “SuperSoul Sunday” airing Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network and will stream on Oprah’s Facebook. The interview is also available on “Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations” podcast. This episode was originally taped during “Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations from Times Square” on February 5.
Michael B. Jordan discusses his sky-rocketing career and why he says his life has already “exceeded his dreams.” Michael’s breakout performance came in 2013’s Fruitvale Station, directed by visionary Ryan Coogler. The duo teamed up again for the Rocky sequel “Creed” and then the mega-blockbuster, “Black Panther.” Michael says after playing superhero villain Erik Killmonger, he went to therapy. “As a man I think we get a lot of slack for, you know, what it is to be masculine. I don’t really subscribe to that because I feel like everybody needs to unpack and talk whether it’s at a therapist or a close friend or family member.” Michael is forging his own path by starting a production company called “Outlier Society Productions,” which guarantees inclusion in all of its casts and crews.
Netflix’s newest romantic comedy focuses more on the love of three girlfriends than it does the tragic fallout of its stars Gina Rodriguez and LaKeith Stanfield.
In a Wednesday trailer for the feature “Someone Great,” we meet music journalist Jenny (Rodriguez), who is forced to move away from her friends and long-time boyfriend in New York after landing a job at Rolling Stone in San Francisco.
To make the most of their final moments together, Jenny and her two best friends (DeWanda Wise and Brittany Snow) plan out one final adventure before Jenny heads west. And it seems their idea of adventure involves the typical “20-something living in New York City” agenda: tequila shots, electronic music at the club, and late-night drunken pep-talks on subway platforms. It doesn’t hurt that each of them is trying to shake off old habits or relationships and embrace change.
“Why’d he leave you like that?” a concerned stranger asks Jenny while waiting for the train, learning her boyfriend of nine years dumped her. “Why didn’t he want to try, with your pretty teeth and s—?”
The clip is peppered with the same light-hearted encouragements and self-deprecating jokes as Wise’s and Snow’s characters go through their own tribulations in the city. Written and directed by Jenn Katyn Robinson (creator of MTV’s “Sweet/Vicious”) and produced by Paul Feig, “Someone Great” is about heartbreak, on paper — but looks nothing short of upbeat as this trio navigates the future together.

Idris Elba is joining the squad. Sources tell Variety that Elba is Warner Bros. choice to replace Will Smith as Deadshot in the “Suicide Squad” sequel.
Smith had to bow out of the upcoming DC Comics movie due to scheduling conflicts, and the studio moved fast to find another proven A-lister to replace him before production starts in September.
It’s currently unknown who will be joining Elba in the sequel, though many believe Margot Robbie will return as Harley Quinn. James Gun was tapped to write and direct the film. The release date is currently set for Aug. 6, 2021.
The original “Suicide Squad” — starring Smith, Jared Leto, Robbie — became a massive box office sensation when it hit theaters in 2016, grossing $746 million worldwide.
Elba is also starring in the upcoming Netflix series “Turn Up Charlie,” which bows this spring. Ahead of “Suicide Squad 2,” he will appear on the big screen for “The Fast and the Furious” spinoff “Hobbs and Shaw” alongside Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, as well as Universal and Tom Hooper’s “Cats” adaptation with Taylor Swift, James Corden, and Jennifer Hudson.

“Fast and Furious” star Tyrese Gibson is in talks join Jared Leto in “Morbius,” a film based on the Spider-Man villain of the same name.
“Safe House” filmmaker Daniel Espinosa will direct the movie. Matt Smith is also on board to appear in the film.
Exact details of who Gibson would play are currently unknown.
Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who co-created the Netflix series “Lost in Space,” penned the script. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing “Morbius” with Lucas Foster. Palak Patel will oversee the pic for Sony.
Writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane created Morbius in 1971 for “The Amazing Spider-Man #101.” The character was a scientist who tried to cure himself of a blood disease, with tragic results. He became afflicted with vampiric traits such as fangs and a thirst for blood — and wound up battling Spider-Man.
Morbius appeared sporadically in Marvel Comics in the subsequent years and was revived in the 1992 series “Morbius, the Living Vampire,” which had a 32-issue run through April of 1995.
Gibson was just announced to star in and produce Warner Bros.’ upcoming feature biopic on famous Philadelphia-born R&B singer/songwriter Teddy Pendergrass. He is also currently shooting “Black & Blue” for Screen Gems and will soon begin filming the ninth installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise.
Gibson is represented by APA, Isabella Castro Voltron Management, and John Tishbi of Pearlman & Tishbi, LLP.
