Ego Nwodim has landed her first show following her exit from Saturday Night Live.
The stand-up comedian will perform at Lincoln Center Theater’s Claire Tow Theater in New York City. The show will run from November 19 through November 23, with tickets going on sale on October 20 at 10 a.m. ET.
Nwodim’s show will be part of The Comedy Series programming, which will also feature Vir Das, Jerrod Carmichael, and Sam Jay. The series is described as “a chance for these artists to test boundaries, shape new material, and explore the space between humor and truth.”
“No two performances will be the same—because the creative process isn’t a straight line, and neither is this show. It’s comedy that’s evolving before your eyes,” reads the press release.
Although Nwodim was expected to return to SNL Season 51, she announced her exit from the NBC late-night show after being part of the cast for seven seasons.
“The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight,” she wrote in an Instagram post confirming her departure. “But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL. I am immensely grateful to Lorne [Michaels] for the opportunity, to my castmates, the writers, and the crew for their brilliance, support, and friendship. Week after week on that stage taught me more than I could have ever imagined, and I will carry those memories, and that laughter, with me always.”

The music world is mourning the loss of one of its most influential voices. D’Angelo, the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and producer who helped define the neo-soul movement, died on October 14, 2025, at the age of 51 after a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born Michael Eugene Archer, D’Angelo rose to prominence in the mid-1990s with his debut album Brown Sugar, which fused classic soul with hip-hop and R&B in a way that felt both timeless and revolutionary. His follow-up, Voodoo, cemented his status as a genre-defying artist, with the sultry single “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” becoming an instant classic—praised for its raw emotion, stripped-down production, and unforgettable music video.
D’Angelo’s artistry was marked by vulnerability, spiritual depth, and a refusal to conform to industry expectations. He won multiple Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Album and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, and was widely credited with inspiring a generation of artists, including Maxwell, Erykah Badu, and Frank Ocean.
His family released a heartfelt statement: “The shining star of our family has dimmed his light for us in this life. After a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer, we are heartbroken to announce that Michael D’Angelo Archer… has been called home”.
Tributes from across the entertainment world have poured in. Jamie Foxx called him “anointed” and “one of one,” praising his flawless voice and unforgettable style. D’Angelo’s daughter, Imani Archer, shared a touching photo of the two together, honoring her father’s legacy with a quiet moment of remembrance.
D’Angelo’s passing marks the end of an era, but his music—rich with soul, truth, and innovation—will continue to resonate for generations. As fans revisit his catalog, they’ll find not just songs, but sonic portraits of a man who gave everything to his art.

Netflix is pulling back the curtain on one of Hollywood’s most iconic entertainers with the upcoming documentary Being Eddie, set to premiere on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Directed by two-time Oscar winner Angus Wall, the film offers an unprecedented look into the life, career, and legacy of Eddie Murphy—comedian, actor, and cultural trailblazer.
Being Eddie chronicles Murphy’s nearly 50-year journey in entertainment, from his teenage stand-up gigs and breakout role on Saturday Night Live to blockbuster hits like Beverly Hills Cop, The Nutty Professor, and Shrek. Wall, who began working on the project in 2019, describes Murphy as “an artist with an incredibly flexible mind and spirit,” adding that his openness during filming was “refreshing and kind of surprising”.
The film’s official synopsis highlights Murphy’s singular path: “No other teen comedian shared a stage with Jerry Seinfeld at 17, joined SNL right out of high school, and played a cop, a doctor, and a donkey—dominating every facet of Hollywood he’s touched”.
Being Eddie also features interviews with Murphy’s famous friends and collaborators, offering insight into his influence on comedy, film, and pop culture.
With Being Eddie, Netflix celebrates a legend whose charisma, ambition, and talent have shaped generations. As the premiere approaches, fans can prepare for a documentary that’s as bold, brilliant, and unforgettable as Eddie Murphy himself.

The jungle is calling once again—Sony Pictures has officially announced that the next installment in the Jumanji franchise will begin filming in November 2025, with a theatrical release slated for December 11, 2026. Returning to the wild world of video game mayhem are franchise favorites Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, who will reprise their roles under the direction of Jake Kasdan.
Joining the ensemble for the first time is actress Brittany O’Grady, best known for her breakout role in HBO’s The White Lotus. While her character details remain under wraps, her addition signals fresh energy and new dynamics in the ever-evolving Jumanji universe. Also joining the cast is Burn Gorman (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), adding further intrigue to the upcoming sequel.

In addition to the core cast, returning players include Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, and Awkwafina, ensuring continuity with the previous films while expanding the narrative scope.

“Wonder Man” has arrived at Marvel — not the superhero, but the superhero character. The first full trailer for the Disney+ series features Emmy winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, a struggling actor desperate to land the role of his childhood idol, Wonder Man. Marvel also announced that “Wonder Man,” which was previously slated to debut in December, will now premiere on the streamer on January 27th.
In the trailer, Simon is shocked when renowned filmmaker Von Kovak (Zlatko Burić from “Superman”) announces that he’s going to remake the classic “Wonder Man” film that Simon adored as a child. In his quest to land the role, Simon winds up befriending fellow actor Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley), who infamously played the “role” of international terrorist the Mandarin in 2013’s “Iron Man 3.” Kingsley reprised Trevor in 2021’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” directed by Destin Daniel Cretton — who co-created and executive produced the series, and directed the first episode.
Cretton, currently in production directing “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” co-created the show with Andrew Guest (“Hawkeye,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Community”), who also served as the showrunner. “Wonder Man” co-stars X Mayo, Demetrius Grosse, Arian Moayed, and Olivia Thirlby.
Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Don Heck in 1964, in the Marvel Comics, Wonder Man is the alias of Simon Williams, the son of rich industrialist Sanford Williams. After Williams Innovations faces financial troubles due to competition with Stark Industries, Simon ends up accepting an offer from Baron Zemo that gives him ionic superpowers. After over a decade as a villain to the Avengers, Simon ultimately turns over a new leaf and becomes a longstanding member of the team. Later on in his career, Simon gains an interest in acting and moves to Los Angeles, where he works as a stuntman and books minor roles in blockbusters.

Comedy legend and late-night pioneer Arsenio Hall is ready to tell his story—uncensored and unfiltered. The Emmy-winning entertainer has announced a forthcoming memoir described as “bracingly candid,” offering readers an intimate look at his life, career, and the cultural moments that defined a generation.
Hall’s memoir will trace his journey from growing up in Cleveland to becoming one of the most influential Black voices in television history. Best known for The Arsenio Hall Show, which redefined late-night TV in the early ’90s, Hall gave a platform to hip-hop artists, political figures, and underrepresented voices long before it was mainstream. The book promises behind-the-scenes stories from his groundbreaking interviews with guests like Bill Clinton, Tupac Shakur, Eddie Murphy, and Magic Johnson, as well as reflections on the pressures of fame and the challenges of being a trailblazer in Hollywood.
In addition to revisiting his iconic talk show era, Hall will delve into his stand-up roots, his work in films like Coming to America, and his return to the spotlight in recent years. The memoir will also explore personal struggles, including his decision to step away from the spotlight to raise his son, and his thoughts on the evolving landscape of comedy and representation.
The memoir is set to be published by Flatiron Books on April 7, 2026, with Hall promising a voice that’s “honest, funny, and maybe even a little uncomfortable.” Early buzz suggests the book will be both a nostalgic ride and a timely reflection on fame, race, and resilience.
With his signature wit and wisdom, Arsenio Hall’s memoir is poised to be a must-read for fans of comedy, culture, and candid storytelling. After decades of shaping the conversation, he’s finally telling his own—on his own terms.

Comedian and talk show host Sherri Shepherd is calling on Saturday Night Live to prioritize diversity in its casting, following the confirmed exit of cast member Ego Nwodim after six seasons. Nwodim, who joined the iconic sketch show in 2018, was the only Black woman in the current ensemble—a role she carried with sharp wit, bold characters, and cultural resonance.
Shepherd, speaking on her daytime show Sherri, praised Nwodim’s contributions to SNL and emphasized the importance of continuing her legacy. “Ego brought brilliance, beauty, and unapologetic Blackness to that stage,” Shepherd said. “Now it’s time for SNL to step up and make sure another Black woman gets that spotlight.”
Saturday Night Live has long faced criticism for its lack of consistent representation of Black women. Before Nwodim, only a handful—including Maya Rudolph, Danitra Vance, and Sasheer Zamata—have held full-time cast positions in the show’s nearly 50-year history. Shepherd’s comments reignite a broader conversation about inclusion in comedy and the gatekeeping of mainstream platforms.
Shepherd’s call has been echoed by fans and fellow comedians on social media, many of whom are suggesting rising talents like Zainab Johnson, Ayo Edebiri, and Janelle James as potential additions. The push comes as SNL prepares for its 51st season, with casting announcements expected in the coming weeks.
As SNL looks to reshape its cast, Sherri Shepherd’s message is clear: representation isn’t just about filling a seat—it’s about honoring voices, perspectives, and the power of comedy to reflect the world as it truly is.
