On the December 2025 episode of IMO, Michelle Obama and her brother Craig Robinson welcomed Katt Williams as their guest. Known for his sharp wit and often controversial stand-up routines, Williams opened up in a surprisingly candid way, discussing his complicated childhood and the experiences that shaped his career in comedy.
Williams shared stories about being raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, moving alone to Florida as a child, and how those formative years gave him resilience and perspective. He also reflected on his relationships with the women in his life, offering a more personal side than audiences typically see on stage.
Michelle Obama, who has used her podcast to explore themes of family, resilience, and personal growth, guided the conversation with warmth and curiosity. Her ability to balance humor with depth allowed Williams to move seamlessly between comedic anecdotes and serious reflections.
Together, Obama and Williams highlighted the importance of finding adventure in life, even when circumstances are difficult. The episode underscored how comedy can serve as both a coping mechanism and a powerful storytelling tool.
The pairing of Michelle Obama and Katt Williams may seem unlikely, but it reflects the podcast’s mission: to bring diverse voices together to discuss real-life challenges. Williams’ appearance resonated with listeners because it showcased the human side of a comedian often seen only through the lens of his performances.
The episode also coincided with promotion for Williams’ upcoming “The Golden Age Tour”, reminding fans that while he continues to push boundaries on stage, he is equally capable of introspection off it.
Katt Williams’ conversation with Michelle Obama on IMO was both entertaining and revealing. It offered fans a rare glimpse into the comedian’s personal journey while reinforcing Obama’s ongoing commitment to spotlighting resilience, humor, and the power of storytelling.

According to multiple reports, Paramount will release Rush Hour 4 on behalf of Warner Bros., taking a double-digit percentage distribution fee for handling the rollout. This unusual arrangement comes at a pivotal moment in Hollywood, as Paramount—owned by David Ellison—is aggressively pursuing a bid to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery. The collaboration represents one of the first major team-ups between the two studios since Ellison took control of Paramount earlier this year.
The Rush Hour films, directed by Brett Ratner, began in 1998 and quickly became global box office hits.
The films paired Jackie Chan’s martial arts brilliance with Chris Tucker’s comedic timing, creating one of the most successful action-comedy duos in cinema history.
The announcement also marks the first narrative feature for Brett Ratner since 2017, when he faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct that effectively ended his Hollywood career. Ratner has remained largely absent from feature filmmaking, working instead on smaller projects and documentaries. His return to direct Rush Hour 4 is already sparking debate in the industry, given the unresolved controversies surrounding him.
Several studios reportedly passed on releasing the film, including Warner Bros.’ own New Line Cinema, which originally launched the franchise. Paramount’s decision to step in is seen as both a business opportunity and a strategic move amid its ongoing bid for Warner Bros. Discovery.
The deal also comes amid reports that President Donald Trump privately encouraged Paramount’s leadership to revive the franchise, adding another layer of intrigue to the film’s comeback.
While details of the plot remain under wraps, reports confirm that Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are returning to reprise their roles as Inspector Lee and Detective Carter. The film is expected to blend the franchise’s trademark mix of martial arts action, comedic banter, and cross-cultural hijinks.
The return of Rush Hour after nearly two decades is both a nostalgic revival and a controversial comeback. With Paramount distributing and Ratner back in the director’s chair, the film is poised to reignite one of Hollywood’s most beloved action-comedy franchises—though not without scrutiny.
Paramount will distribute Brett Ratner’s Rush Hour 4 for Warner Bros., Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are set to return, and the deal represents a major Hollywood shake-up amid studio mergers and Ratner’s contentious re-entry into filmmaking.
Amazon Prime Video is bringing back the energy of Calvin’s iconic Chicago barbershop with a fresh cast and storyline. The new series, based on MGM’s hit film franchise, will star Jermaine Fowler as Travis “Trav” Porter, the grandson of Calvin, who strives to live up to his family’s legendary barbering legacy.
Joining Fowler are four dynamic talents:
The Barbershop films, first launched in 2002, became cultural touchstones for their mix of comedy, community, and social commentary. The new series promises to keep that same spirit alive. According to the official logline, while the barbers may be new, the shop remains just as lively, the debates just as heated, and the fades just as sharp. At Calvin’s, the haircut is only the beginning—the real magic lies in the conversations and connections that happen in the chair.
The casting of Roy Wood Jr. and Punkie Johnson brings late-night comedy credibility to the series, while Brett Gray and E.J. Bonilla add youthful and dramatic depth. Together, they represent a blend of humor, heart, and authenticity that aligns with the franchise’s legacy.
The Barbershop series is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2026, with production already underway. Fans of the original films can look forward to a modern reimagining that honors the past while introducing new voices and stories.
With Jermaine Fowler leading the cast and this powerhouse lineup of actors joining him, the series is poised to deliver both laughs and heartfelt moments—ensuring that Calvin’s barbershop remains a cultural hub for a new generation.

On August 20, 2025, comedian Reggie Carroll was shot and killed outside a residence in Southaven, Mississippi. The man charged in connection with the shooting was identified as Tranell Marquise Williams, a 38-year-old bodyguard who had worked closely with comedian Katt Williams during his tours. Carroll, 52, had also been touring with Katt Williams earlier that year, appearing on the Heaven on Earth Tour.
Authorities arrested Tranell Williams shortly after the incident, charging him with murder under Mississippi law. He has remained in custody since August 21, 2025.
For months, Williams remained silent about the events of that night. Now, he has broken his silence, as he gives an exclusive interview with FOX 13 where he claims captured the escalating confrontation before he pulled the trigger. WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE!
This video marks the first time the public has been given a glimpse into Williams’ perspective of the incident.
Reggie Carroll was a well-known comedian from Baltimore and had joined Katt Williams on tour. Friends described him as a vibrant performer who had relocated to Mississippi to continue working with Williams. His death shocked the comedy community, leaving family and fans devastated.
Williams’ case is ongoing. He faces a murder charge and has been held without bond since his arrest. His first court appearance was scheduled for late August, and further hearings are expected as prosecutors and defense attorneys prepare their arguments.
The release of the video could play a significant role in shaping the narrative of the case, particularly if Williams’ defense hinges on claims of self-defense.
As the case unfolds, the comedy world continues to mourn Carroll’s loss while awaiting clarity on whether Williams’ actions will be legally justified.
