According to our sources, we hear that comedian, actor, and musician, Jamie Foxx is about to begin shooting a very secretive film with actress Gwyneth Paltrow in Europe starting in December.
No word yet on what the film is about, but it’s being speculated that the film COULD possibly be something for Marvel Entertainment as both actors have worked for Marvel in the past (Foxx as Electro in No Way Home and Paltrow in the Iron Man/Avengers films). What is certain is the film, shooting overseas and being kept under wraps to this magnitude will only incite speculation that it is possible in the Marvel canon of films or series.

Netflix is utilizing its move into live streaming technology with Chris Rock becoming the first person to test it out.
Rock will perform live in a global streaming event in 2023.
It comes after it was revealed in May that the streamer was experimenting with the technology.
It was noted that Rock had another Netflix special to come after the infamous slap incident with Will Smith at the Oscars. Rock has been out on his Ego Death tour over the last few months and during a show in London promised that he would discuss more about his Oscars experience on Netflix.
“People expect me to talk about the bullshit, I’m not going to talk about it right now, I’ll get to it eventually, on Netflix,” he said.
It also marks Rock’s second Netflix special after Tamborine in 2018. He also appeared at the Netflix is a Joke festival alongside Dave Chappelle earlier this year.
“Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation,” said Robbie Praw, Netflix VP of Stand-up and Comedy Formats. “We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”

Universal has enlisted Black Panther: Wakanda Forever co-writer Joe Robert Cole and director Allen Hughes, who with his brother Albert directed movies such as Menace II Society and Dead Presidents, to tackle a definitive biopic of iconic rapper and entertainment mogul Snoop Dogg.
Snoop is heavily involved with the project announced Wednesday, which will incorporate music from his past catalog. He is also producing the feature along with Sara Ramaker and Hughes. The project will mark the inaugural film from Snoop’s Death Row Pictures, which he runs with Ramaker.
“I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen, and the memory I’m trying to leave behind,” said Snoop in a statement. “It was the perfect marriage. It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”
Snoop, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., shot to fame in the early 1990s West Coast rap scene thanks to his collaborations with Dr. Dre and then his one-two-punch albums, Doggystyle and The Doggfather. He parlayed that into a media and business empire, becoming an actor, DJ and media personality as well as an entrepreneur with ties to technology, global consumer brands, food and beverage industries, and, of course, the cannabis world.
With 35 million albums sold worldwide, he is a 17-time Grammy nominee, an American Music Award winner, and a Primetime Emmy Award winner. He has played himself in countless series and appeared in movies such as Training Day, Starsky & Hutch and this summer’s Jamie Foxx vampire action movie Day Shift.
“Snoop Dogg’s life and legacy make him one of the most exciting and influential icons in popular culture,” stated Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group. “We met with Snoop shortly after he acquired Death Row Records and had the opportunity to hear his story in his own words. We are humbled to be able to create the lasting document of this singular artist.”
Universal has had previous success tapping into rap culture with musical biopics focusing on key artists. In 2015, it released Straight Outta Compton, centered on the West Coast hip-hop scene and N.W.A, the seminal group that Dr. Dre was a part of. The film grossed over $200 million and earned an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay. With 2002’s 8 Mile, it told a thinly veiled autobiographical story of Eminem and his rise in an industry and genre dominated by Black artists. That movie grossed over $250 million and won the Oscar for best original song with “Lose Yourself.”
With the Snoop biopic in development, Universal will now have a trifecta of the artists — Snoop, Dr. Dre and Eminem — who performed during this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
Hughes and his brother, both born in Detroit and raised in Southern California, made their names by telling stories of the Black experience with Menace and Dead Presidents at the same time as Snoop was making his rise. In 2017, he tackled the music scene by directing The Defiant Ones, the award-winning four-part HBO documentary focused on Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine.
“Snoop Dogg is one of the most internationally beloved figures in hip-hop,” states Hughes. “There’s just something about his energy that brings people of all walks of life together. Snoop Dogg, not just the artist, but the man and his brand, has transcended generations with his connection and appeal to audiences. His story is so authentic and utterly inspiring, and to have the opportunity to tell his story allows me to go back to the hood 30 years after Menace II Society, and say more now than I could then.”
Cole is a generation younger than Snoop and Hughes and grew up influenced by their work as he made his mark as a screenwriter. He’s notably worked with Ryan Coogler on the two Black Panther movies as well as being a writer-producer on the Emmy-winning FX series American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson; he received an Emmy nomination for writing the episode “The Race Card.”
I’ve been a fan of Snoop since Deep Cover,” says Cole. “His music and the films of Allen Hughes have left an indelible mark on me over my life. What excites me most is the humanity of Snoop’s journey to international icon. Universal has proven they can guide a movie like this to something special. I’m proud to be a part of the team.”
NBCUniversal’s president of music and publishing, Mike Knobloch, will supervise the project’s music. Universal’s senior vp production and development Ryan Jones will oversee the project for the studio.
Snoop is repped by Stephen Barnes of Morris Yorn. Hughes is repped by WME and Hansen Jacobson, while Cole is repped by Circle of Confusion and Jackoway Austen.

Dave Chappelle‘s starting his third day of meetings with ‘SNL’ cast and writers, and his camp says there’s been zero talk of an alleged boycott related to Dave’s issues with the transgender community.
DC is hosting ‘SNL’ this weekend — his first time since 2020, and since the release of his controversial Netflix special “The Closer” … which sparked protests and much debate over jokes many people felt were transphobic.
The potential issue at 30 Rock this week is ‘SNL’ now has its first nonbinary cast member, Molly Kearney, and at least one writer who is transgender.
According to Page Six, the show’s writers are boycotting, but a rep for Dave tells TMZ … Dave’s first 2 meetings with the staff have been full, and everyone’s pitching sketch ideas as they normally do.
One of the writers, Celeste Yim, reportedly posted an Instagram story saying, “I’m trans and non-binary. I use they/them pronouns. Transphobia is murder and it should be condemned.”
Their post said nothing about a boycott. It’s unclear if Celeste has been in the staff meetings with Dave this week. We’ve reached out to NBC for comment.
This will be Chappelle’s third time hosting. He previously hosted in 2020 and in 2016, which was memorable for being the first show after the election of Donald Trump.
Dave famously said America should give Trump a chance, but since then the comedian’s admitted he was way off.

Mo’Nique has officially taped her Netflix comedy special and the Oscar-winning actress took to Instagram to celebrate. On Wednesday, the comedian posted a photo of her with her husband, thanking her fans for attending the show.
The special was shot on Oct. 29 at Georgia State University’s Rialto Center for the Arts.
“My sweet babies thanks to everyone that came out and celebrated this moment with us,” Mo’Nique wrote. “MY NAME IS MO’NIQUE LIVE COMEDY TAPING COMING ON NETFLIX! WHAT A MOMENT!! I LOVE US 4REAL❤️❤️”
The comedian announced she would be shooting a fresh original comedy special for the streamer back in July. In a video posted to the streamer’s Twitter account and the Strong Black Lead initiative account, the 54-year-old told fans that she is “so excited to share that I’ll be shooting my first Netflix comedy special.”
She also reminded viewers that she will be reuniting with friend and director Lee Daniels for the Netflix film The Deliverance. “You won’t wanna miss either of them, so y’all stay tuned,” the GRAMMY nominee continued. “Thank y’all my sweet babies. I love us for real.”
Daniels is one of the top commenters on Mo’Nique’s post celebrating her successful taping, replying simply with heart emojis. The duo recently mended fences after being at odds since they worked together on the Academy Award-winning film Precious in 2009. After winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2010 for her critically acclaimed performance as the titular character’s abusive mother, Mary, Mo’Nique made headlines when she claimed she was “blackballed” from Hollywood, naming Daniels as one of the culprits.
Nearly 13 years since they began feuding, the director and star reconciled and will soon reunite for their upcoming thriller.
News of the comedy special marked a surprising, yet happy resolution to the years-long standoff between the comedian and the streamer. In June, Mo’Nique — whose legal name is Monique Hicks — and Netflix agreed to dismiss the lawsuit she brought against them back in November 2019, claiming racial and gender discrimination. In court documents obtained by ET, the star and streamer agreed to drop the suit “including without limitation all claims alleged therein, with prejudice, with each party to bear her or its own costs, expenses, and attorneys’ fees.” No further details of the settlement were disclosed.

Dave Chappelle is one step closer to the comedically coveted Five-Timers Club jacket.
Saturday Night Live announced this weekend that the Emmy Award-winning comedian, 49, will host the long-running sketch comedy show for the third time on Nov. 12, accompanied by musical guest Black Star (the hip hop duo consisting of Yasiin “Mos Def” Bey and Talib Kweli).
He previously hosted SNL in 2016 and 2020, each time earning him an Emmy for outstanding guest actor in a comedy series. Chappelle’s third stint also marks his third time hosting during an election.
Chappelle’s upcoming hosting gig comes amid a star-studded 48th season for SNL, which has featured hosts and musical guests like Amy Schumer, Megan Thee Stallion, and Jack Harlow.
The Half Baked star has recently performed with fellow comedians like Kevin Hart and Chris Rock in recent months, gracing the stage with the latter for a surprise appearance Wednesday at Blue Note jazz club in New York City. Additionally, he honored his late pal and fellow comedian Bob Saget for Netflix’s A Tribute to Bob Saget special.
He also hung out last month with Will Smith, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Tyler Perry, and others for a private screening of Smith’s Emancipation.
His return to SNL will no doubt garner a lot of eyeballs, from both his fans and critics alike. Chappelle has been the subject of much controversy after his Netflix standup special The Closer received backlash from the LGBTQ community over transphobic jokes last year.

Former “Saturday Night Live” star Chris Redd is opening up about an attack he suffered outside of a New York City comedy club late last month.
The comedian referred to the incident as a “surprise party of one fist” during an appearance on The Daily Beast’s “The Last Laugh” podcast, according to a preview of the episode posted Thursday.
Redd told host Matt Wilstein that he was on his way to perform a set at the Comedy Cellar when a man suddenly hit him in the face with what he believed to be a metal object.
“It cut my nose to the bone,” he said, adding that the amount of blood was “worrisome.”
The “SNL” alum said the attack left him with two fractures in his nose and one fracture in his cheek.
“The dude just hit me and ran off,” Redd said, adding that there was “so much blood” on his face that he couldn’t see the attacker well.
Redd’s attack was first reported by TMZ. He was among a number of “SNL” cast members who left the show ahead of its 48th season this year. His first comedy special, “Why Am I Like This?” premiered Thursday.
The comedian said in the podcast interview that he has already been working on incorporating jokes about his attack into his future work.
The full episode is set for release Tuesday.
