Former NFL Star Wide Receiver Antonio Brown Set To Make Stand-Up Comedy Debut

Posted Oct 19, 2026

The former Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver is trading the football field for the comedy stage, with a December 18 performance scheduled at New England Comedy Club.

Antonio Brown is preparing to enter a new arena—stand-up comedy.

The former NFL wide receiver is scheduled to make his stand-up comedy debut on Friday, December 18, 2026, at New England Comedy Club in Harvard Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The appearance marks an unexpected new chapter for one of professional football’s most talked-about former players.

According to the event listing, the show is scheduled for 8 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. A meet-and-greet is also advertised for attendees. The venue is located at 33 Dunster Street in Cambridge.

Brown built his reputation as one of the NFL’s most productive wide receivers. During his career, he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors.

At his peak, Brown was known for his explosive speed, precise route-running, and ability to make game-changing plays. He helped the Steelers establish one of the league’s most dangerous offenses before later joining Tampa Bay, where he played alongside quarterback Tom Brady and won Super Bowl LV.

His football career came to an abrupt end in January 2022, when he left the field during a game against the New York Jets and subsequently departed the Buccaneers. He has not played in the NFL since.

Now, Brown is looking to see whether the confidence and larger-than-life personality that made him a prominent sports figure can translate to a live comedy audience.

Making the transition from professional sports to stand-up comedy can be difficult. Unlike football, where an athlete’s performance is measured through statistics and wins, comedy requires timing, storytelling and the ability to connect with an audience in real time.

Brown’s upcoming appearance will give audiences an opportunity to see him in a different setting, outside the world of professional football.

The booking also arrives amid continuing legal issues. Brown is facing an attempted-murder charge in Florida stemming from an alleged shooting at a celebrity boxing event in Miami in 2025. The charge is an allegation, not a determination of guilt.

Whether Brown intends to pursue comedy as a longer-term career or simply explore a new creative outlet remains to be seen. His December appearance will nevertheless represent a significant departure from the profession that first brought him national recognition.
