Eddie Murphy To Develop And Produce New Animated Film Titled ‘Bodacious’!

Posted Oct 13, 2015

Eddie Murphy is getting back into the animation game, set to develop and produce BODACIOUS, a film about the world’s most dangerous bull, for Paramount Pictures. Adam Goodman will produce via his Dichotomy shingle while Matt Skiena, who executive produced The Lego Movie, will oversee.

The idea for the film comes from Murphy and is inspired by the real Bodacious, a Charbray bull who was the most infamous and feared bull throughout the sport of rodeo. Jared Mass is overseeing the project for Paramount.

Bodacious, who was active only from 1992-1996, bucked for the Andrews Rodeo Co. The fearsome beast was known for his ingenious moves to throw riders from his back, though severely injuring them in the process. Considered by many the “greatest bull to ever buck,” Bodacious retired in his prime, but went on to become a grand sire to many career bulls in the PBR and PRCA and was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame.

Murphy, who’s well-known for his roles in animated films like Shrek and Mulan, will likely voice the titular terror and bring a more comedic spin to the proceedings.

Murphy, who has largely been absent from features following his 2012 comedy A Thousand Words, just wrapped on the drama Henry Joseph Cook, which co-stars Britt Robertson. He’s also slated to lend his voice to another animated pic – Warner Bros.’ Hong Kong Phooey, an adaptation of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

Dichotomy was founded by Goodman, who served as president of Paramount’s film group. Skiena joined Dichotomy just this past September as an executive, along with Jason Shrier.
