Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) seems to be returning his focus back to feature film acting in full force (after the release of his “STN MTN” mixtape and “KAUAI” EP), joining Matt Damon, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels and Jessica Chastain, in Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi thriller “The Martian.”
Damon will star, playing an astronaut who is stranded on Mars solo, and must learn to adapt and survive, while he waits for a rescue mission from earth, led by Chastain.
Glover has signed up to play a character described as a bright young NASA employee in the 20th Century Fox project.
Glover also recently joined the cast of “Magic Mike XXL,” and can next be seen alongside Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass in Lionsgate’s thriller “Lazarus.”
“The Martian” is set to hit theaters in November 2015.
