We just discovered the news that comedian Tony Roberts, probably best known for his role on the Byron Allen TV show, Mr. Box Office and on tour with the Shaq Comedy All Stars is now filming and directing his own movie!
That’s right, according to our sources we hear that Roberts is filming a movie titled Not So Fast, Her Tooth Is Loose, which is his directorial debut and many of the comedians on set and in the film are from the Bay Area. Comedians such as DoBoy, Tylon (T-Boogie) Cody Woods, along with Faizon Love are in the film. We also hear comedians Vanessa Graddick, and Michael Colyar are on set and that possibly means that they are in the film too but we will get back to you on that.
The film Not So Fast, Her Tooth Is Loose is about a former porn star named April Whett who has been a slut all her life is finally looking for true love. April finds out after meeting with the Grimm Reaper that she doesn’t have long to live unless she can find true love within 24 hours. April agrees to the deal with the Reaper that she can find her true love and decides to set out on her journey to do so. Along the way, she confides in her psychiatrist about her dilemma. What she doesn’t know is the psychiatrist she has been confiding in is really the janitor. As you can imagine what ensues from there is pure comedy!
So far the film is being filmed along the lines of past comedy classics such as The Naked Gun and we hear that there are many things being done in the film such as filming many behind the scenes shots-on purpose-while the scene is still rolling.
No word yet on the film’s distribution, but we hear Roberts may take the film with him across the country and distribute the film at featured cinemas.
That’s not all from the Detroit native; we also hear that while he is on the tour with his film he plans to drop his brand new album that will feature 10 songs and 10 videos and a one hour special titled 7 Mile Funny. As you can see the next 12 months is going to be pretty hectic for Tony Roberts. Stay tuned for more developments soon.
