As we mentioned a couple of months ago in a featured cover story article, Deon Cole is one of the bright futures of comedy. It looks like finally others are catching up to what we already knew.
Today Variety, the top leading Hollywood industry magazine, released their top 10 comedians to keep an eye out for, and you can probably guess who made the list- Deon Cole.
As we stated back then, Cole was the only African American writer to the land a writing gig on The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien, and now that has even lead him to greater heights.
We also discovered today that he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Music Or Comedy Series, his first ever nomination
As we stated back then, this is a historical move as Cole is the first ever African American ever hired as a writer for the Tonight Show, and in his first year on the team he has now been nominated for an Emmy!
