Cedric The Entertainer's New Show 'The Soul Man' Gets A Dose Of Reality TV!

Posted May 25, 2012

It looks like Cedric The Entertainer’s new show The Soul Man is taking a leap of faith with some reality stars, and according to reports, it should be an exciting episode!

If you have not heard, we discovered that two of the Braxton sisters, Tamar and Trina, from WE TV’s runaway hit reality series titled  Braxton Family Values, will make an appearance in the upcoming sitcom which stars Ced and Niecy Nash.

The Soul Man series, scheduled to debut June 20th, revolves around R&B superstar-turned-minister Reverend Boyce “The Voice” Ballentine, who was living the high life in Las Vegas at the top of the music charts when he decided to go from soul singer to soul-saver. Relocating to St. Louis with his wife, Lolli (Nash), and daughter, Lyric (Jazz Raycole), to preach in his father’s church, his family isn’t exactly eager to give up the fabulous superstar life for a humble one. The sitcom also stars John Beasley (Everwood) as Boyce’s father, and Wesley Johnathan (What I Like About You, Roll Bounce) as his brother.

If you haven’t heard by now the The Soul Man is a spin-off of TV Land’s hit sitcom Hot in Cleveland.

According to reports, The Braxton sisters play sisters who audition for the church choir.

We also hear that other guest stars lined up for the first season are Anthony Anderson, Sherri Shepherd, Robert Forster, and Kim Coles.
