Actor Eriq La Salle Joins New Comedy Series On HBO!

Posted Apr 19, 2011

We just discovered that actor Eriq La Salle (of NBC’s ER fame and of Coming To America) has just joined a new comedy series that will broadcast on HBO! This is shocking news to us because La Salle has always maintained that he would only work behind the scenes. For those of you who don’t know, La Salle has directed many episodes of many TV shows including ER, and he has even started his own production company.

Anyway, Deadline, got the drop on us on this one, and here is the story;

HBO has tapped Joe Pantoliano and Eriq La Salle for arcs on the upcoming second season of comedy series How To Make It In America, about a group of young hustlers in New York. Pantoliano will play Felix Di Florio, Lulu’s (Nicole Laliberte) intimidating and protective father, a powerful and influential New York artist. Pantoliano is a familiar face at HBO. He co-starred on the network’s hit drama The Sopranos, winning an Emmy for his gig. ER alum La Salle will play Everton Thompson,  an educated Jamaican community activist who throws a wrench in the growth of Rene’s (Luis Guzman) company.
