We just discovered that FOX Searchlight films is about to produce one of David E. Talbert’s most successful books for a feature film titled Baggage Claim, and word is that an offer was made to actress Paula Patton (of Mission Impossible 4 and Jumping The Broom fame) as the lead!
If you are not familiar with the book, it is a dramedy about a flight attendant who concocts a plan to find a fiancee before her sister’s engagement party. While trying to concoct this plan, as you can image, what can go wrong does and the comedy begins!
Anyway, word is that Talbert (who also wrote and directed the Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan film First Sunday) is on board to direct this film, his second feature. No other word has leaked to us about this film yet, but we are keeping our ears open as we think an announcement will be made shortly if Patton accepts!
