Chris Rock To Host Week-Long Red Hot Chili Peppers Sirius XM Channel!

Posted Jun 14, 2016

Ahead of the release of their 11th studio album, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are getting a SiriusXM channel. But – twist! – superfan Chris Rock will host the channel.

The limited-run station, Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio, will feature music from the legendary group’s entire career including their new album, The Getaway. The station will also have commentary from the group on writing, recording, and performing live, plus music from artists such as Jimi Hendrix, and Funkaedlic, who were influential to the group.

Rock, who inducted the legendary group into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, will introduce their music and share stories from his long-time friendship with the Chili Peppers.

“We’re excited to join forces with one of rock’s most treasured bands to bring SiriusXM subscribers Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer, in a statement. “With Chris Rock as the channel host – omeone who knows a thing or two about hosting big entertainment events and even more about the Chili Peppers – fans across North America will be taken on an exclusive guided tour of the band’s iconic career.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio kicks off on SiriusXM’s channel 34 on Wednesday at 3 pm E.T. and runs through Tuesday, June 21.

Getting their own radio channel comes during a big week for the band as they will appear on The Late Late Show on Monday with James Corden for the newest installment of Carpool Karaoke and The Getaway is set for release on Friday.
