As many of you already know, Adele Givens was one of the hit acts in the Queens Of Comedy that toured the country with Ms. Laura Hayes, Sommore, and Mo’Nique. Givens had launched a successful stand-up act that was featured nationally for years and was about to embark on a movie career and possible television career, as the offers were sure to roll in after being featured with the Queens, and on the hit HBO’s Def Comedy Jam.
What many of you don’t know is that Givens had faced life issues that almost derailed her career for good as her husband came down with a terminal illness and almost passed away. We spoke to Givens about her husband, her career, and how she was able to turn things around and come back to comedy.
