The news just broke today about Tyler Perry’s new casting news for his new comedy film! This time the news was released that Perry is putting on his producer hat this time, to help bring a comedy titled, We The Peeples, to the big screen in deal between his 34th Street Films and Lionsgate.
We also hear that Tina Gordon Chism, whose previous credits include penning the screenplays for Drumline and ATL, will write and direct We The Peebles, and it will be her directorial debut!
The story centers on a young man’s (a child psychologist’s) hellish weekend, which begins when he surprises his girlfriend, by showing up to meet her political family parents, during their annual end of summer celebration in Sag Harbor, only to find that they are all in desperate need of therapy.
We hear that actors Kerry Washington (the girlfriend), Craig Robinson (the child psychologist) and David Alan Grier have been cast in the film, with production scheduled to begin this month. We also discovered that more casting news will be announced shortly!
