We just discovered the news that the comedian known as Mista Courtney McGriff, formerly of BET’s Comic View, HBO’s Bad Boys of Comedy, and the winner of the 2008 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition and Festival, is about to film his own one hour comedy special for television!
Our sources have stated that the new special is to be titled Tears Of Laughter, will be filmed in Atlanta Sept 13th at the 14th Street Playhouse Theatre, and will be produced by Dark Knight Entertainment and by McGriff Entertainment. The show will be hosted by the legendary comedian Joe Clair and we hear that several network execs will be in attendance from Tyler Perry Studios, Aspire TV, and Up TV. We are not sure if the networks in attendance already have the rights or are still in negotiations, but we do know that the special will land on television.
