'The Best Man Holiday' Drops A Brand New TV Spot!

Posted Jul 1, 2013

We reported several months ago that the film The Best Man was making a sequel titled Best Man Holiday, and we reported right through the filming process. We did NOT drop their new trailer  at the time because it really wasn’t a brand new trailer of the film but a recycling of the old film.

Anyway, if you watched the 2013 BET Awards last night, you likely saw all the “fall 2013 black film” trailers that aired during the broadcast – including a the new  TV spot for the film directed by Malcolm D Lee.

As we reported, this new film has return of the stars from the first film, from  Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau,Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan,Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall, who are all reprising their roles in a story that is set 15 years after the original.

If you are not familiar with the new story, here is the description;

When the college friends finally reunite over the Christmas holidays, 15 years after the first film, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.

Morris Chestnut went on record in an interview last week stating about his new character was pushing him to new levels, as “the character was so emotionally conflicted. His emotions were high at some points but, for most points, they were very low. So I had to be in the headspace that I don’t like to go into often. That was extremely, extremely challenging. Probably, the most challenging to this day.

Morris also stated that this new film sequel is better than the first film. We will see…

Universal Pictures has set the release date for the sequel for November 15, 2013.

Check out the new TV Spot below which reveals more footage than the first teaser we saw a few weeks ago:
