Cedric the Entertainer has landed a guest-starring role on Superior Donuts, EW has learned exclusively.

The comedian has been tapped to play Jerome Wicks, the father of Jermaine Fowler’s Franco Wicks. Jerome is a blue-collar, tough-love kind of parent who always scoffed at his son’s artistic ambitions. When he shows up at Franco’s first art show, he accuses Arthur (Judd Hirsch) of encouraging Franco’s unrealistic dreams.

Cedric the Entertainer, whose TV credits also include The Soul Man, Hot in Cleveland, and 2 Broke Girls, will appear in an episode slated for May.
