Steve Harvey Lands 1-On-1 Interview with President Obama!

Posted Dec 17, 2013

Steve Harvey, former comedian, and current host of The Steve Harvey Show visited the White House and left politics aside when he talked to President Obama. Instead, he touched on more personal topics that drew close to home for the two men.

“The greatest moment in that interview for me was [when] he was talking about his grandmother, who he misses so,” Harvey told NBC 4 days following his interview with President Obama. “She passed in her eighties and my mom passed in her eighties.

“And I said to the president, ‘I heard a rumor that your mother and my mother had met, and they are on the front row watching us right now. And that was a pretty cool moment.”

Harvey said he wanted it to be a “man-to-man” interview that discussed fatherhood, family and plans for the holidays. Harvey, who has three daughters of his own, even asked the president how he feels about his two daughter, Sasha and Malia, when it comes to dating.

“He has developed some theories about dating,” Harvey told NBC 4. “I was pretty proud of my president on that one.”

Some critics have slammed the interview as “softball” and questioned the validity of the president being interviewed by someone who isn’t a professional journalist.

The full interview will air on The Steve Harvey Show on Friday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m.
