We just discovered that singer-songwriter Rita Ora will join the cast of the highly anticipated film from Universal Pictures and Focus Features FIFTY SHADES OF GREY in the role of Mia, Christian Grey’s adopted younger sister!
According to a release, Ora will play the role of “Mia,” the adopted younger sister of Christian Grey. If you are not familiar with Ora, she is predominantly known as the chart topping musician signed to RocNation. In 2012, Ora made her mark on the music scene with her first breakout smash hit single “Hot Right Now,” which was the first of three consecutive No. 1 singles.
Ora’s debut Platinum album ‘ORA’ also entered the U.K. charts at No.1, and subsequently enjoyed worldwide success. Ora kicked off 2013 with her own sold out Tour and was nominated for an incredible THREE BRIT Awards. She was 2013 Harpers Bazaar Woman of the Year. Ora’s forthcoming sophomore album is expected in the spring of 2014, with rumored collaborations with Calvin Harris and many others.
In the new film, actor Jamie Dornan will star in this hotly anticipated film adaptation in the iconic role of Christian Grey and stars opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. Joining them in the cast are Eloise Mumford as Kate, Anastasia’s best friend and roommate; Luke Grimes as Christian’s brother, Elliot; Victor Rasuk as Anastasia’s close friend, José; Jennifer Ehle as Anastasia’s mother, Carla; and Max Martini as Christian Grey’s bodyguard and head of his security team, Jason Taylor.
Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing alongside E L James, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing.
Kelly Marcel wrote the initial draft of the screenplay with subsequent script work from Patrick Marber and Mark Bomback.
