Sinbad To Kick Off 'Gotham Comedy Live' From NY's Gotham Comedy Club On AXS TV!

SinbadLOS ANGELES – Dec. 18, 2014 – AXS TV’s “Seriously. Funny. Thursdays.” returns January 15 with new episodes of the stand-up comedy series GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and a second season of the original talking-head comedy series MOCKpocalypse at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.

Featuring a big-name host every week, GOTHAM COMEDY LIVE kicks off the night with a performance from legendary comedian Sinbad. The hour-long live comedy series now in its fourth season also features a line-up of the hottest emerging comedians on the circuit as they perform at the famed Gotham Comedy Club in New York.

Then, AXS TV takes a comedic look into the world of music, including all of its offbeat trends and characteristics, with the second season premiere of MOCKpocalypse from comedy troupe Dr. God. In addition to MOCKpocalypse and their comedy shows, Dr. God recently finished their first feature film, the horror-comedy “Bloodsucking Bastards.”

This season, 13 new topics provide plenty of fodder as comedians take shots at everything from EDM, country and disco, to yacht rock and epic music videos. The new season of MOCKpocalypse features a number of new and familiar faces, including Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme (Broken Lizard), Jamie Kaler (My Boys), Ryan Stout (Chelsea Lately), Jimmy Pardo (Never Not Funny), Mary Birdsong (Reno 911!), Steve Aggie (The Sarah Silverman Program) comedy duo Frangela and improv/sketch writer and performer Heather Campbell (Saturday Night Live, Whose Line Is It Anyway?) among others.

MOCKpocalypse is developed and run by executive producers Neil Garguilo and David Park who appear in the series with their fellow Dr. God members Sean Cowhig, Brian James O’Connell and Justin Ware. TV personality and writer Dave Holmes, who also appears in the series, joins as a consulting producer for this season.
