Allen Payne was born Allen Roberts in Harlem, New York. The public was introduced to Payne in 1990 on The Cosby Show as Lance
Rodman, Charmaine’s boyfriend. He was Marcus Stokes on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air and Preston on Malcolm & Eddie.
Payne also lit up the film circuit with pivotal roles in Jason’s Lyric, CB4, New Jack City, Vampire in Brooklyn, Double Platinum, and The Perfect Storm.
In 2006, Allen Payne returned to television to star on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.
