We just discovered from our sources that actress Halle Berry has a new film- and it’s a comedy! Yep, that’s right- Halle Berry has committed to lead an ensemble cast in a new film titled Shoe Addicts Anonymous.
For those of you who are not familiar with the title, it is an adaptation of the bestselling St. Martin’s Press novel by Beth Harbison. We hear that the director of the film is Paul Weiland, the man behind such films as include Made of Honour and whose TV work includes the series Mr. Bean and Blackadder: Back & Forth.
We hear that the comedy film looks at the lives of four Chicago women from different ethnic backgrounds, bonded by two things- shoes and wearing the same size of shoes! Word is they form a support group, swap 7.5 and become friends. Eventually their bond goes beyond footwear. Berry will play an agoraphobe who feeds her addiction with online footwear purchases. This comedy film is her first comedy since Bulworth.
Stay tuned for some more news about this film shortly, as they are about to cast the other actresses.

July 22, 2010 at 1:43 AMWouldn’t this be her 2nd since BAPS? I think she might make a nice comeback on the comedy front. She’s actually funny if you recall her on SNL.
