Martin Lawrence Lands His 1st Independent Film & Preps 1st Amendment Launch!

Comedy News

On the eve of Starz Entertainment’s release of the stand-up comedy series, Martin Lawrence Presents 1st Amendment Stand-up we discovered the news that comedian and actor Martin Lawrence is about to move forward with a project that is an independent film!

We also discovered from a reliable source that Lawrence is also moving forward with his film with Jamie Foxx titled Sheneneh and Wanda which (as we reported earlier) is based on outrageous female characters last seen on In Living Color and Martin.

No word yet on what the independent film will be about or the tile.

Lawrence and Foxx are developing the Sheneneh and Wanda film together as a comic caper film. Foxx will write the script, and he and Martin will produce it together through Foxx’s Foxxhole and Lawrence’s Runteldat Banners (production companies).

In case you forgot, the project originated as a parody of a movie trailer for a film called Skank Robbers, which Foxx and Lawrence made for the BET Awards (watch below!).

I think all comedians who been in the game a while are headliners. Its good we get a chance to do what we do. But in Our black comedy world its always some separation. Any comedian on this page in a national tv spot being aired on the starz channel is a headliner remember that. And who ever said different has not followed comedy. I dont know what they are talking about. Good luck to all my fellow comics. peace and blessings
